Dear USA Boxing Coaches and Officials,
Hope you all are well.
It has been my dream for some time now to enable coaches to achieve their level 1 certification by some other means than driving, sometimes for hours, to a clinic that may run much longer than necessary.
Thanks to the efforts of some dedicated volunteers and the national office staff we now have online level 1 certification and re-certification for coaches. There is no fee to take the test and access to the educational materials is free.
Coaches, do not be intimidated. The process is easy; even I can do it as I was one of the testers.
Live, in-person coaching clinics will continue to be offered for those who wish to receive certification in that manner.
Offering online coach certification is just the first step in trying to meet the needs of our membership. Soon we will try to have online certification for officials and educational videos for all aspects of our sport.
Your Board of Directors is fully aware of the enormous contribution that our coaches and officials give to our sport. We will continue to study ways to make your jobs easier and ways to better deliver your services to our boxers.
I hope to see many of you in Dallas in late June for the Junior Olympic and Prep National tournaments.
