USA Boxing's Bronze certification clinic is designed to introduce high-performance boxing concepts and practices to boxing coaches working with new, novice, or club boxers. The course is scheduled for approximately 16 hours. Participants will spend 85% of the time out of their seats performing drills, exercises and role playing with their colleagues. Some topics will include:
- The importance of a dynamic warm-up
- Coordination drills
- Introduction to the Universal Boxer style of coaching, used by USA Boxing's national teams
- Teaching lessons using the EDIP (Explain Demonstrate Imitate Practice) method
- Fundamental offense and defense
- The three (3) stages of sparring
- How to use coach mitts
- How to work a corner
- An introduction to the American Development Model
