PURPOSE:

Boxing competition for registered athlete members of USA Boxing to gain experience in a safe environment.

ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS:

All USA Boxing athlete and non-athlete members that are currently registered for 2023.

COMPETITION
DATES & TIMES:
|
Saturday, February 25, 2023: competition to begin at 1:30 PM. Limited to 30 bouts.
Sunday, February 26, 2023: competition to begin at 1:00 PM. Limited to 30 bouts
Matched bouts will be accepted by the weight according to USA Boxing 11/17/17 Guide for Making Matches at the Local Level.

Registration does not guarantee a matched bout.
Registrations must be completed on a competitors sheet and emailed to mrios@boxingfiit@yahoo.com
Age will be determined by February 25, 2022.
All entries will be on a first come, first served basis; entries open 1/25/2022 and close on 2/17/2022.

DOCUMENTATION
REQUIRED:

USA Boxing Competition Passbook (valid for 2023)
Physical/Fit to Box Form (must be dated before February 25, 2022).

WEIGH-INS:
|
Saturday weigh-ins from 8:00 AM-10:00 AM.
Sunday weigh-ins start 8am until last boxer weighs in.

Physicals to begin at 9:00 AM

COACHES &OFFICIALS:
|
Coaches must be registered for 2023 with USA Boxing and have a current Coach’s Certification
(completed in the last two years), and a coach’s passbook to work at any USA Boxing sanctioned
tournament. Only 3 coaches allowed in the corner. Boxers are not
permitted to act as a second.

EQUIPMENT:
|
SWA LBC #26 will provide boxing gloves.
All boxer’s uniforms must have a color contrasting waistband.
No adornment may be affixed to the trunks such as metal or plastic objects, sequins, etc.
Trunks cannot have fabric that is partially attached and therefore able to flap with the movement of the boxer. This includes “gladiator/Thai” type trunks, fringe, and tassels.
All other items, headgear, foul-proof cups, breast protectors, form-fitted mouthpieces, uniforms, tape
and gauze, velpeau (soft stretchy cotton), sponges, spit buckets, must be provided by the
participants.

AWARDS:
|
First place winners to receive custom 16 oz boxing gloves. Trophies for second place winners and unopposed champions. First and Second place team trophies will be awarded.
