USA Boxing

PURPOSE:

Boxing competition for registered athlete members of USA Boxing to gain experience and showcase their boxing skills in a safe environment.

ELIGIBLE

PARTICIPANTS:

USA boxing athlete members that are currently registered and all divisions welcome. Boxers matched will be notified by Tournament Director no later than November 8th, 2023. List will also be posted on Facebook @Southwestern LBC 26 Bout List and @Troup Boxing Gym.

COMPETITION

DATES&TIMES:

Saturday November 11, 2023, at 12PM, at The Byron Payton Gymnasium. Limited to 25 bouts. Matched bouts will be accepted by the weight according to USAB Rulebook 112022 pg 55, Appendix F, Guide for Making Matches at the local level.

SPECTATORS:

Must follow rules.  NO OUTSIDE FOOD DRINKS.  General ADMISSION $15. Ages 2 to 7 $5, Ages 2 and under free. Ringside seating available for $25 a seat.

REGISTRATION:

Registration does not guarantee a matched bout.  Entries will open October 18, 2023, and will close November 6, 2023, or will close when enough bouts are reached, or when Tournament Director deems necessary. Registrations must be emailed to: deb.ref@verizon.net   Please send a competitors list or text file, NO PICTURES via text will be accepted. Age determination by November 11, 2023.  All entries will be on a first come, first serve basis.

REQUIRED: ATHLETE DOCUMENTATION

USA Boxing Competition Passbook (valid for 2023) Physical/Fit to Box Form (must be dated between November 11, 2022-November 11, 2023). Release to Compete with braces (if applicable)

Saturday November 11, 2023: Weigh-Ins 8am-10am, no exceptions.

PHYSICALS:

Physicals will follow weigh in.

COACHES &

OFFICIALS:

Coaches must be registered for 2023 with USA Boxing and have current Coach’s Certification and Coach’s Passbook to work at any USA Boxing sanctioned tournament. Up to 2 Coaches allowed in the corner. Coach’s background check and Safesport must be completed for all coaches and officials.

EQUIPMENT:

SWA LBC #26 will provide official tournament boxing gloves. All boxer’s uniforms must have a color-contrasting waistband. No adornment may be affixed to the trunks, such as metal or plastic objects, sequins, etc. Trunks cannot have fabric that is partially attached, such as “gladiator/Thai” type trunks, fringe, tassels. All other items, headgear, foul-proof cups, breast protection, form-fitted mouth pieces, uniforms, tape, and gauze, velpeau (soft stretchy cotton), sponges, spit buckets, etc. must be provided by the participants.

AWARDS:

First place winners will receive trophy. Runner ups will receive medals. Outstanding fighter and fight of the day will receive belt. Walk overs will receive medals, unopposed will not be awarded.
