RV4 Boxing Academy is proud to launch our new annual series of amateur boxing shows, beginning with a heartfelt tribute honoring the late, legendary Max Garcia.

This inaugural event holds special significance as we celebrate Max Garcia  a beloved mentor and pillar of our boxing community whose impact on the sport and local youth has been immeasurable. Max and his wife, Cathy, were recently inducted into the Salinas Valley Sports Hall of Fame, a fitting tribute to their decades of dedication.

Max was the backbone of our amateur boxing program and a selfless supporter of fighters at all levels, including the world-renowned featherweight champion Ruben Villa IV, who grew up right here in Salinas.

Mark your calendars for October 11, 2025, as we come together to honor the one-year anniversary of Max’s passing and continue his legacy of passion and mentorship.

We invite you to celebrate Max’s enduring contributions to boxing and our community’s youth.

We will be having 19 bouts on this event.
