Highlander Gloves

Highlander Gloves is a registered student organization on the campus of the University of California, Riverside, and represents UCR as a proud member of the United States Intercollegiate Boxing Association (USIBA).  Highlander Gloves partners with the Riverside Police Foundation to produce the Raincross Boxing Academy, a gym where at-risk youth (ages 7-17) who have nowhere to go after school come to get tutoring and help with their homework in an effort to keep up their grades.  As a reward for their academic achievements, these kids receive boxing instruction and get to use the gym and its equipment for free.  The college students, faculty, alumni, and other UCR affiliates that make up Highlander Gloves volunteer to provide this tutoring and boxing instruction for the kids in addition to other community outreach events.  This partnership allows the members of Highlander Gloves to develop thier character and leadership skills while giving back to the community and learning the sport of boxing!
