Privacy Policy

Last updated October 13, 2026

In short: this site runs on Webpoint, a membership platform operated by Webpoint Technologies for USA Boxing. Webpoint provides the software. USA Boxing owns its members’ information and decides how it is used.

Webpoint does not sell, rent or market anyone’s personal information, and does not use it for any purpose of its own.

1. Who We Are, and Who Is Responsible for Your Information

In this policy, “Webpoint”, “we” and “us” mean Webpoint Technologies, which builds and operates the Webpoint membership platform. “Your organization” means USA Boxing, which uses the platform to run its memberships, events and certifications. This site is USA Boxing’s site on that platform.

The two have different roles:

  • USA Boxing is responsible for your member information. It decides what it asks you for, who in the organization can see it, what is published, what it sends you, and what it does with the information.
  • Webpoint is its service provider. We store and process that information on USA Boxing’s behalf, under our agreement with it, and only so the platform can do its job.

This policy explains what the platform collects and how Webpoint handles it. It does not set out USA Boxing’s own practices (see section 3), and it does not cover USA Boxing’s main public website or other systems your organization uses, which have their own policies.

2. What Webpoint Does Not Do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • We do not use it to market or advertise Webpoint’s own products or services, and we do not contact members to sell them anything.
  • We do not provide it to advertisers, data brokers or other companies for their own marketing.
  • We do not combine one organization’s member information with another’s, or build profiles of members for any purpose of our own.
  • We do not give it to anyone, except the service providers that run the platform and the parties your organization directs it to (both described in section 7), or where the law requires it.

Webpoint staff access member records only to provide support to your organization, to maintain and secure the platform, or when your organization asks us to.

These are commitments about Webpoint. They do not limit USA Boxing, which may use its members’ information for its own communications and promotions as it decides (see section 3).

3. Your Organization’s Use of Your Information

USA Boxing controls its members’ information. What it asks for, who it shares it with, how it contacts you, what it publishes and how long it keeps its records are its decisions, made under its own policies and obligations. Webpoint does not make those decisions and is not responsible for them.

The same applies to anything USA Boxing downloads or exports from the platform, such as reports and member lists, and to anything it shares outside the platform. Once information leaves the platform, it is handled under USA Boxing’s practices, not this policy.

If you want to know how USA Boxing uses your information, or you have a concern about it, contact USA Boxing directly (see section 13).

4. What the Platform Collects

When you create an account or join

  • Your name, date of birth, gender, mailing address, email address and phone numbers.
  • A username and password. The password is stored in encrypted form.
  • If you turn on two-step verification, the secret for it, also stored encrypted.
  • The club, team, region or chapter you belong to.
  • Anything else your organization asks for on its join form, which can include citizenship, emergency contacts, medical acknowledgements, and the initials or signatures you give on waivers and consent forms. Those answers are kept with your record so the organization can show what you agreed to.
  • For a member under 18, the name and contact details of the parent or guardian who manages the account.

While you are a member

  • Your memberships, renewals and their dates.
  • Events you register for, and results, rankings or rosters your organization records against your name.
  • Certifications, courses and exams, including scores and completion dates.
  • A profile photo, if you or your organization add one. Photos are resized and re-encoded before they are stored.
  • A record of what was sent to you (see section 8) and of the consents you have given or withdrawn, with the date and the page where you gave them.

Background screening

Some organizations require a background screen for certain roles, usually coaches, officials and volunteers. When you apply for one, the platform collects the information the screening provider needs, which includes your Social Security number, and passes it to that provider. Your Social Security number is removed from the platform once the application has been submitted; the platform keeps the outcome of the screen and its dates, not the details behind it.

Payments

When you pay by card, the card number is sent to your organization’s payment processor to charge. What the platform keeps against the payment is the card type, the last four digits, the processor’s reference numbers and the amounts, which is enough to show you a receipt and to answer a question about a charge later. The security code is never stored. If you pay with Google Pay or Apple Pay, the platform receives a one-time token from the wallet, not your card number.

Automatically

Standard web-server logs, including your IP address, and the cookies that keep you signed in (see section 6). Webpoint uses Cloudflare for basic, cookie-less page analytics and to protect public forms from automated abuse. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. What Is Shown to Other People

What is visible is set by your organization. The list below describes what the platform can show; not every organization uses each feature.

  • Inside your organization. Staff of USA Boxing, and the administrators of your region, chapter and club, can see your member record as far as their role allows. That is how memberships, eligibility and events are administered.
  • Directories. An organization may publish a club directory (club name, address, phone and the name of its primary contact) and a coach or officials directory (name, city and state, current certification level, and a photo where the organization allows it). A visitor can send you a message through the site from those listings; your email address itself is not shown.
  • Events. A published event shows its details and the names of its contacts. Results may list a participant’s name and hometown. In sports that publish rankings, a ranking shows name, division and the recorded performance, which in weight-class sports includes body weight.
  • Your membership card. Your card carries a QR code that opens an online copy of it, so an event or club can check your standing. Anyone who scans that code sees what is on the card: typically your photo, name, date of birth, gender, membership type and expiry, club or chapter, member ID and the certifications your organization prints on it.

Directories and listings do not currently show less for a member who is under 18 than for an adult. If you are the parent or guardian of a young member, this is worth knowing before entering them in a published event or adding a photo.

6. Cookies

The platform sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a short-lived cookie that identifies your account to the site. If you check “remember this browser” when completing two-step verification, a further cookie records that choice for the period your organization allows. Blocking cookies will stop you signing in. We do not set advertising cookies and we do not use Google Analytics.

7. Who Your Information Is Shared With

Service providers that run the platform

Webpoint uses a small number of providers to operate the platform. Each receives only what it needs for its task and may use it only for that task.

  • Email and text-message delivery providers, to deliver the messages described in section 8.
  • Your organization’s payment processor, to take a payment or issue a refund.
  • The background screening provider, when you apply for a screen.
  • Hosting, storage and security providers, who hold and protect the data. The platform is hosted in the United States.

Where your organization directs it

These are your organization’s choices. Webpoint sends the information because your organization has set the platform up to.

  • Your organization, its regions, chapters and clubs, as described in section 5.
  • Your organization’s online learning system, if it has one, when you open a course from this site. It receives your name, email address and the membership details it needs to enroll you, so you do not have to create a separate account.
  • A college recruiting service, but only if your organization offers it and you say yes on the join form. What is sent is the athlete’s name, email, phone, date of birth, graduation year and address, plus parent names and contact details. Nothing is sent if you answer no.

Webpoint will disclose information if the law requires it. Apart from that, we do not share personal information with anyone else, and we never share it for advertising or marketing.

8. Email and Text Messages

Email and text messages you receive through this site come from USA Boxing, which decides what to send: messages about your membership, events and certifications, and news and announcements. Webpoint delivers them through its email and text-message providers. The email provider records whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, and USA Boxing can see those results.

Text messages are sent only to a mobile number you have provided and consented to, and are transactional: confirmations, status changes and check-in messages. Webpoint does not use your email address or mobile number to contact you for any purpose of its own, and mobile numbers and text-message consent records are not shared with anyone for marketing.

Every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP ends text messages. You can also change both under Account Settings → Email Preferences and Text Preferences. The Communications Privacy Policy has the detail.

9. How Long Information Is Kept

The platform keeps memberships, event entries, results and certifications as a record of what happened, and does not delete them when they expire, because a member’s history is part of the organization’s records and often of their own eligibility. Changes to a record are logged with who made them. Social Security numbers are removed as described in section 4, and card numbers are never kept in full. Web-server and error logs are kept for a limited period and then discarded.

10. Your Choices

  • Correct your name, contact details and other profile information from your account at any time.
  • Add, replace or remove your profile photo where your organization allows members to manage it.
  • Choose which email you receive, and whether you receive text messages at all.
  • Turn two-step verification on or off for your account.
  • Ask USA Boxing what it holds about you, to correct something you cannot change yourself, or to close your account. Closing an account stops it being used; the membership and event records behind it stay, for the reasons in section 9.

11. Children

Many members are under 18. An account for a minor should be created and managed by a parent or guardian, and where your organization has turned it on, a parent can hold one login that manages each of their children’s memberships. Read section 5 before entering a young member in a published event or adding their photo, because the platform does not currently show less about a minor than about an adult.

12. Changes to This Policy

Webpoint will update this policy as the platform and the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change affects how your information is used or shared, we will note it on this page.

13. Contact

For a question about your information, about how USA Boxing uses it, or to exercise any of the choices above, contact USA Boxing at membership@usaboxing.org. Because USA Boxing controls its member records, it is the right place for requests about your own record.

For a question about this policy or the platform itself, contact Webpoint Technologies at webpoint.us.
